About the role:

This role involves leading the critical offices of Institutional Effectiveness, Quality Assurance and Accreditation at RAK MHSU to help it achieve its key short-term and long-term goals and objectives.

The Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Quality Assurance & Accreditation (IEQAA) is a key member of the RAKMHSU’s Management Team and reports directly to the President. He works in collaboration with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Research and Post Graduate Studies and Chief Operating Officer in Strategic Planning and Leadership by designing and implementing quality assurance framework at RAK MHSU for continuous improvement of the educational programs and individual departmental processes. Oversees the Data/information and fulfil the requirements of the national and international accreditation bodies.

The Head of Documentation & Strategic Planning, Head of Quality Assurance & Accreditation and Head of Institutional Effectiveness will report to the Dean- IEQAA.

Some Key Responsibilities:

1.  Strong adherence to the goals and objectives of the University and provide recommendations for the strategic planning, University policies, and procedures.
2.  Supervise the daily operations of the Documentation & Strategic Planning, Quality Assurance & Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness.
3.  Ensure all the institutional related publications are aligned with latest Standards of the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education, UAE.
4. Guide and supervise the process of self-study for various National and International accreditations initiated by the University.
5. Coordinate and ensure smooth completion of various internal and external visits/ inspections assigned by the National and International Accreditation Bodies.
6. Maintain the Institutional Licensure and all Educational program related Accreditations.
7.  Conduct SWOT analysis for the University and other functional units at regular intervals to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and provide guidance through action plan to overcome them based on direct and indirect measures and internal and external feedback.
8. Identify the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the University, Colleges and all functional units based on their functions and provide support in Benchmarking process.
9. Organize training programs to guide the teaching faculty in preparation of course files and faculty files as per the CAA Standards and ensure to maintain digital version for all of them.
10.  Participate in nominated University level and College level committee meetings and provide expert recommendations to ease the decision making.
11. Oversee the institutional research process, data analysis and prepare reports for effective decision making.
12.  Ensure all the Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are aligned with the QF Emirates.
13.  Coordinate all the requirements/data of Center of Higher Education Data and Statistics (CHEDS)
14.  Secretary to the university quality assurance committee

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• PhD in Health Sciences (preferably with qualification or experience in Quality Management) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant administrative experience at a responsible position in a similar capacity and role in a well-established medical and health sciences institution.
• Strong leadership, management, communication, and team-building skills.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of higher education systems, standards and accreditation processes, Quality Assurance, Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance. 
• Strong data analysis, analytical and problem-solving skills.
