Academic freedom refers to the fundamental rights and privileges that enable scholars, researchers, and educators topursue knowledge, engage in critical inquiry, and express their views without undue interference or censorship. ScopeThis policy applies to the entire RAKMHSU community, including students, faculty, and members. StatementAt RAKMHSU (Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University), we recognize and uphold the principles of academic freedom as fundamental to our mission of fostering intellectual growth, critical inquiry, and the pursuit of knowledge. We are committed to creating an environment where the free exchange of ideas, diverse perspectives, and scholarly exploration flourishes.Freedom of Teaching and LearningWe affirm the freedom of our faculty members to determine the content, methods, and pedagogical approaches in their teaching. They can select and utilize appropriate instructional materials, engage students in meaningful discussions, and foster an atmosphere of open inquiry and intellectual curiosity.Freedom of Research and Scholarship:We support the freedom of our faculty members and students to engage in research, scholarship, and creative endeavors. They are encouraged to pursue innovative ideas, conduct rigorous investigations, and disseminate their findings through publications, presentations, and other scholarly activities.Intellectual Diversity and InclusionWe value intellectual diversity and believe in exploring diverse viewpoints, theories, and perspectives. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that respects and embraces diverse ideas, cultures, and identities.
