RAKMHSUPOLICIES&PROCEDURESMANUALPolicy Code:6.8PolicyOwner:Dean, Student AffairsVersion& Date:Sep 2024(V 5.0)Page No.:Page 1of 26.8RESIDENCE FACILITY POLICYPurposeStudents of RAKMHSU are provided with a Student Residence Facility by the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and located in the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) campus. AURAK operates the Residence Halls with effect from January 2022. The purpose of this policy is to ensure, as a minimum, that RAKMHSU students are provided with a healthy, safe, and secure living environment that includes special consideration for female students and people of determination and is staffed by a sufficient number of trained operational and administrative staff.ScopeThe scope of the policy applies to the students who are using the Residence Halls facility.StatementThere are six complexes, two for men, three for women, and one Guest House. Each complex contains many studios on single or shared occupancy. Each studio has an appropriate kitchenette, appliances, bathroom, and private balcony.The Residence is provided with 24/7 security services, including CCTV camera surveillance. Other facilities such as Wi-Fi internet connectivity, a laundering facility, a parking area, and public transport are also available.ProcedureThe University, through regular communication with the Residence Halls Management, will:%u2022Ensure that the Residence Halls provide a learning environment for students that supports the university's educational mission.%u2022Monitor the room availability and allocation of a single and sharing occupancy for male and female RAKMHSU students.%u2022Ensure that the Residence Halls provide services such as laundry, catering, and recreational facilities for the use of the residents.%u2022Ensure to follow up with the Residence Halls Management on the proper transportation arrangement for resident RAKMHSU students.%u2022Ensure that the Residence Halls regulations and guidelines apply equally to all residents.%u2022Monitor the action taken by Residence Halls Management to resolve any issues raised by RAKMHSU students.
