Welcome to the Center for Health Workforce Development (CHWD) at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU). At CHWD, we are dedicated to advancing healthcare and promoting population health through strengthening the health workforce as the fundamental pillar for health systems.

We view health workforce development as a science, and we work to nurture it as a field of knowledge and professional practice. We contribute to realizing a critical mass of health workforce experts equipped with leadership, championship, and technical capacity.

The CHWD embraces the mandate of supporting countries, health systems, and institutions to strengthen the health workforce through education and training, technical services, and research. Our scope of work covers UAE, the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR), and globally wherever our service is relevant and demanded. We believe in collaboration and networking and aim to develop strategic partnerships, working together with our partners towards common goals. The health workforce realities and challenges in the EMR are unique, and our center is strategically positioned to collaborate with WHO and regional players for an effective response.
