CHWD is launching a new online application for recruiting Collaborating Experts. This platform allows qualified professionals to apply to join CHWD’s expert roster and contribute to health workforce policy, education, research, and capacity development initiatives in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and globally. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.  

Modality of work

The CHWD executes its mandate capitalizing on its autonomous status within the university and based on a flexible, inclusive, and adaptive approach. The centre functions through the following arrangements:

  • Dedicated core staff spanning leadership, technical expertise, and administrative roles
  • Network of collaborating experts covering various health workforce development domains and working on part-time and flexible modalities including visiting/adjunct academic positions, contracts, and project-based assignments
  • Advisory board involving renowned health workforce leaders/experts from within the region and internationally providing strategic advice and guidance to the centre
  • Impactful partnerships with relevant entities providing for exchange of expertise and resources to support the functions of the centre
  • A unique relationship with WHO aligning the centre’s work with the priorities and agenda embraced by WHO EMRO to strengthen the health workforce across the member states of the region including a focus on the Regional Director’s flagship program on the health workforce
  • Oversight and resource mobilization provided by the university under guidance of the Board of Trustees
