CHWD is launching a new online application for recruiting Collaborating Experts. This platform allows qualified professionals to apply to join CHWD’s expert roster and contribute to health workforce policy, education, research, and capacity development initiatives in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and globally. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.  

Strategies for work

The CHWD adopts the following four strategies to strengthen capacities for health workforce development:

  • Education and training: designing and delivering short courses, micro-credentials, and degree programs pertaining to preparing leaders, managers, and professionals involved in health workforce development
  • Knowledge sharing and technical services: providing technical assistance and knowledge sharing for countries, health systems, and institutions in policy and strategic planning, institutional capacity, and other key areas necessary for strengthening the health workforce
  • Research and evidence generation: catalysing and conducting research to inform policy and decision-making around strengthening the health workforce
  • Advocacy and networking: advocating to elevate the importance of the health workers and health workforce science and promoting networking, exchanges, and collective action for strengthening the health workforce
  • Partnership: promoting collaboration and joint work with national, regional, and international organisations and institutions
