                                    27In accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines no scrub suits are allowed outside the theatre, it%u2019s also the RAKCOMS policy to restrict the use of surgical scrubs to within the theater and recommend changing into street clothes once you walk out of theater.5.4 University Policy on ResearchObjective: To promote student participation in scientific research and encourage them to publish and participate in scholarly activities.5.4.1 Organization and procedure of Students%u2019 Research:1. Students embarking on research must have faculty supervisor(s).2. Studies involving the hospital data must have one of the adjunct clinical faculty as a co-guide.3. Students are advised to discuss the research topic with the faculty supervisor(s) and develop a relevant and feasible research proposal.4. The faculty would help the students to develop a research proposal and guide them throughout the study.5. The faculty would ensure the scientific validity, relevance, feasibility, and ethical issues before finalizing the research protocol.6. Refer the guideline for approval pathway for undergraduate and postgraduate research projects7. The students are advised to carry out research within the jurisdiction of RAKMHSU as much as possible.8. If the proposal is outside the jurisdiction of RAKMHSU, necessary approval from the appropriate administrative authority must be obtained before the commencement of the research study.9. Funding the research ProjectsQuantum of funding: Each undergraduate and postgraduate student project is eligible for funding based on the project's scope and alignment with the institution's research priorities. The budget allocation process mandates the submission of a formal application to the Research Committee for grants, following the requisite ethical and project approvals.For undergraduate student projects, a budget allocation of AED 1,000 per student is available, capped at AED 4,000 per project. Postgraduate research projects may receive funding of up to AED 10,000, subject to the nature of the research and anticipated outcomes. The allocated grant is intended to cover expenses such as chemicals, consumables, and other essential materials required for the successful completion of the project.In cases where the allocated funding of AED 10,000 is fully utilized and additional resources are required to complete the project, the Principal Investigator may submit a formal request for supplementary funding to the University Research Committee. The same criteria is applicable to the undergraduate student. This request must include a detailed justification, which will be evaluated by the committee for approval.Funding Application Process:The funding application process will be as follows:
