We are proud to announce that Ms. Saiha Nawar Khan, a Year 3 MD student, has won the Poster Competition at the Saudi German Hospital Cardiology Conference held in Dubai on 19th September 2025!

Her winning poster, titled "Failing Young Hearts: Paediatric Cardiomyopathies and Heart Failure", highlights critical issues in pediatric cardiology and reflects her dedication to impactful medical research.

RAKMHSU Honors MBBS Students for Outstanding Participation in McGill's 2025 Summer Program

RAKMHSU congratulates Ms. Meera Ali Ebrahim, Ms. Hoor Abbas Mohamed and Ms. Salma Ebrahim Al Nuaimi, 5th Year MBBS students, RAK College of Medical Sciences, on the successful completion of the McGill Summer Program for International Medical Students, 2025.

The students were engaged in a wide range of academic and clinical activities. The program included evidence-based medicine workshops, simulation training, specialty sessions in cardiology, paediatrics, surgery, neurology, and palliative care, as well as observerships at leading Montreal hospitals. Beyond academics, our students also had networking opportunities with McGill students and residents, which enriched the overall experience.

On the final day, the program concluded with a graduation ceremony at McGill University, where they proudly received their certificates from Ms. Aalya Helal Al Shehhi, Counsellor at the UAE Embassy, marking the completion of an inspiring and collaborative journey.

RAKMHSU Hosts the 3rd Medical College Football Tournament 2025

The 3rd Medical College Football Tournament, held from 2nd to 9th October 2025 at RAK Medical & Health Sciences University, brought together our talented students for an exciting week of competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

After a series of thrilling matches and great performances on the field, the 5th Year MBBS (Seniors) emerged as Champions, while the 3rd Year MD Team proudly secured the Runner-up position!

The tournament showcased not only skill and determination but also the strong sense of unity and friendship among our students. Congratulations to all the players, organizers, and supporters who made this event a memorable success!

We are proud to share that our manuscript "Implementation of United Arab Emirates Competency Framework for Medical Education in Undergraduate Medical Curriculum" has been accepted for publication in BMC Medical Education!

This work marks a regional first—successfully embedding Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) into an undergraduate medical curriculum in the UAE and the broader region, aligning with the UAE National Competency Framework. This milestone represents a step forward in advancing outcomes-based, patient-centered medical education and fostering clinical readiness in future physicians.

RAKMHSU Student Wins at Prestigious Anatomy Conference

We are pleased to share that Mr. Hisham H. J. Muhsen (23901029), a Year 2 MD student from RAKCOMS, RAKMHSU, was awarded first place in the poster presentation category at the 4th UAE Anatomy and Cell Biology Conference, held on the 10th and 11th of May 2025 and hosted by Dubai Medical College.

Mr. Hisham received the Best Poster Award for his presentation titled "Bilateral Anomalous Veins Arising from the Popliteal Vein with Variant Termination of the Short Saphenous Vein: A Case Report", conducted under the supervision of the Department of Anatomy.

The competition saw participation from a large number of students and faculty representing medical colleges across the UAE, the Middle East, and India. Emerging as the top presenter among such strong regional participation is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the quality of research and mentorship provided within the Department of Anatomy, RAKCOMS.

This achievement brings great pride to our institution and highlights the ongoing commitment to academic and research excellence.
