FAQ

Scholarships — your questions answered

The merit concessions are assessed on results the University already holds — your Grade 12 / UAE NGSSE aggregate at entry (sections 1 and 3) and your annual GPA in each later year (section 2). The Pharmacy and Pharm D first-semester scholarships apply to every student enrolling in those programs (sections 4 and 5). The sibling, alumni and non-alumni concessions depend on facts the University needs to be told — a sibling studying here at the same time, or a RAKMHSU qualification — so raise those with the admissions office when you apply. NAFIS is administered by the NAFIS program and the Al Qasimi Foundation scholarship is applied for through the Foundation; both are linked in sections 10 and 11. Confirm your eligibility with Admissions before you pay any fee.

It depends on the program. MD — 97% or above in Grade 12 / UAE NGSSE or equivalent gives a 20% tuition concession for the first year (section 1). BDS — above 95% gives 20%, above 90% gives 15%, both for the first year only (section 3). B.Pharm and Pharm D — no mark condition: every student enrolling receives a 50% scholarship on tuition for the first semester of Year 1 (sections 4 and 5). BSN and BSM — there is no discount in Year 1 (section 6). Every one of these also requires that you meet the program’s admission requirements.

On the year’s results, for MD, B.Pharm, Pharm D, BSN and BSM alike (section 2). The top three students in each batch with a GPA of 3.8 or above out of 4.0 receive 20% for the following academic year; every other student with a GPA of 3.8 or above receives 15%. Both require that all registered courses were completed without exceptions. Two conditions catch people out: the award is calculated on the annual GPA and not on any single semester, and final-semester or final-year grades are not counted towards eligibility. BDS follows the same Year 2 route at 20% for a GPA of 3.8 or higher (section 3).

No. Where you qualify for both a merit scholarship and the sibling discount, the University applies whichever gives the higher benefit — not both (section 3). A student availing a sibling discount is not eligible for any other scholarship or discount, and if a sibling is already receiving any fee concession from RAKMHSU no additional sibling discount is granted (section 7).

Four groups, all stated in the notes to sections 2 and 3: transfer students; repeat students enrolled in only a few courses; students of Master’s programs, which are not eligible for merit scholarships at all; and students sponsored by a Government or Private Sponsor, who are eligible for neither a merit scholarship nor a sibling discount. Students repeating courses are also excluded from the sibling discount (section 7).

It applies to your own brothers and sisters studying at RAKMHSU at the same time, in the same program or different ones, and it goes to the younger sibling for as long as the elder one continues to study here (section 7). For MD, B.Pharm, Pharm D, BSN and BSM the second sibling receives 15%, the third 10% and the fourth 5%. For BDS the concession is 25% for the second, third and fourth sibling alike. The policy applies to fresh intake students joining from Academic Year 2026–27 onwards. If two siblings join in the same academic year, the discount goes to the one in the higher tuition fee program. Both siblings must pay the full tuition fee for the semester and neither may be enrolled in repeating courses.

The Alumni Scholarship, at a rate set per program (section 8). Master of Dental Surgery carries 25%. MS Medical Physiology, MS Pharmaceutical Sciences, PhD in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and MS Clinical Education carry 20% for the AY 2026–27 batch and 10% for subsequent batches. MS Nursing, the PG Diploma in Nursing, MS Clinical Pharmacy, the two-year Doctor of Pharmacy (Post-Bachelor) and the PhD in Nursing carry 10%.

Yes — a 10% Non-Alumni Scholarship, for the AY 2026–27 batch only, on four programs: MS Medical Physiology, MS Pharmaceutical Sciences, PhD in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and MS Clinical Education (section 9).

The NAFIS Scholarship covers 100% of full fees for eligible Emirati students admitted to B.Pharm, BSN or BSM (section 10). It is not unlimited: the number of scholarships available depends on the number of applicants and on the seats the NAFIS program allocates for each intake and program, so apply early and check the current allocation at nafis.gov.ae. Emirati and other students may also apply to the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research, which funds students independently of the University (section 11).

Tuition only. Every concession on this page is calculated on the actual tuition fee payable or collected for that semester or academic year, so it does not reduce application, admission, seat-reservation or any other fee — those are set out on the fees page. The figures here are indicative for AY 2026–27, and the University reserves the right to review and revise the policy periodically in line with institutional requirements and budgetary considerations. Confirm the current terms with the admissions office before making any payment.
