- Proven ability to drive transformational change, enhance outreach and facilitate student success with the results I have achieved in my current role. I lead the faculties, to consistently achieving over 90% ultimate graduation rates, over 95% and 100% first-time pharmacy licensing board examination pass rates, nationally and internationally. Since my appointment, the total number of students enrolled in both faculties grew by an average of 20%.
- Leveraged networking skills to materialise my vision of a PDRC university-wide research centre and secured £4 million in funding for this new state of the art centre.
- Demonstrated ability to lead efforts to develop a strategy for university research priorities. As a result, I have increased externally funded research attracting from $150,000 in 2018 to more than $2,000,000 in 2021.
- My two faculties at AAU received complete Jordanian accreditation in 2021, and the Faculty of Pharmacy received full ACPE accreditation in 2022 by meeting all twenty-six requirements.
University of Bradford (UoB), UK 2014 – 2019
- Anniversary Chair (Professor) in Molecular Pathology and Cancer Therapeutics, School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, UoB
- Deputy Director of Institute of Cancer Therapeutics, School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, UoB
- Director of Collaborative Targeted Therapeutics & Diagnostics, School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, UoB
- Developed an extensive track record for developing a robust and mutually beneficial industry engagement program for research, technological innovation, and commercialization. As a result, I was the principal investigator on significant UK projects, including CRUK, Welcome Trust FP7 (£3.5 million), ITN Marie Curie (£3.5 million), Innovate UK – Biomedical Catalyst, a £2.0 million UK-China competition (SRISF).
- Showed successful experience in progressively responsible research. For example, I lead a research team that used sophisticated techniques to produce targeted medicines (Ran inhibitors). Ran inhibitors have been found, including a monoclonal antibody, two repurposed medicines (MELT2014 and MELT2015), peptides, and a new small molecule that has been confirmed in in vivo preclinical tests. Moreover, during my appointment I secured 5 international medical patents including peptide and nanoparticle formulations, assays, and compounds for use in medicine.
- Made clear my experience with research administration and technology commercialization. Founding multiple successful spin-off companies, such as ARENA, Imhotep Diagnostics and Therapeutics (IDT), and Imhotep Diagnostics Health (IDX health).

- Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse backgrounds. Consequently, I collaboratively built the MSc degree programs in areas such as cancer pharmacology and digital pathology. What’s more I enhanced recruitment and retention of students by a significant proportion during my appointment.
