Library Governance & Guidelines

The RAKMHSU Library operates within a clear governance framework that ensures its collections, services and facilities are managed responsibly and aligned with the academic mission of the University. Governance is exercised through the Library Committee and the set of policies, rules and guidelines that direct the day-to-day use of the Library.

Library Committee

The Library Committee provides oversight and strategic direction for the Library. Its responsibilities typically include:

• Advising on collection development, resource subscriptions and budget priorities.
• Reviewing and recommending library policies, rules and service standards.
• Ensuring library resources support the curricula, teaching and research needs of all colleges.
• Promoting effective use of library services among students, faculty and staff.

The Committee includes representation from the colleges and the Library, and meets periodically to review the Library’s performance and plans.
