Yes. The University is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MOHESR), and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). RAKCOMS is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. Several programs also hold international accreditation: the BDS with the Australian Dental Council, the B.Pharm with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the BSN and MSN with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Every programme and its status is listed on the Accreditation Status page.

Four colleges. Medicine: the six-year Doctor of Medicine (MD), a four-year Graduate-Entry MD, and master’s degrees in Medical Physiology and in Clinical Education. Dentistry: the BDS, an MDS in Orthodontics and in Prosthodontics, and a Master of Clinical Periodontology and Implantology. Pharmacy: the B.Pharm, the Pharm.D, master’s degrees in Clinical Pharmacy and in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a PhD in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Nursing: the BSN, the BSM in Midwifery, the MSN with five specializations, a Post-Graduate Diploma and a PhD in Nursing. Teaching is in English. See Colleges & Programs.

In Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates — about an hour from Dubai, on a campus in Al Qusaidat near RAK Hospital. The University was founded in 2006 as the first medical and health sciences university of its kind in the UAE. Air-conditioned shuttle buses run for students from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain; hostel accommodation on campus is the alternative.

The MD is entered after Grade 12 with the required science subjects and minimum percentages, which differ by school curriculum, plus an English language requirement. The Graduate-Entry MD needs a relevant bachelor’s degree. The full table is on the MD admission criteria page.

Yes. The University runs air-conditioned shuttle buses for students from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, at AED 6,250 per semester on top of tuition. Hostel accommodation on campus is the alternative. See Transportation Services.

Yes — programs are open to applicants of all nationalities, and international qualifications are assessed individually for equivalency. Visa support, health insurance and hostel accommodation are set out on the International Students Facilities page.
