The RAKMHSU Interprofessional Education (IPE) Initiative is dedicated to empowering our four college graduates to save lives efficiently and effectively. As Professor Ismail Matalka, President of RAKMHSU, has emphasized, this is our objective. Through the Center of Educational Development and Research, the university is successfully implementing the IPE, based on the international definition of IPE; “Two or more health professionals learn about, from, and with each other to foster collaborative team learning for interprofessional behaviours and competence”.
RAKMHSU has built this initiative on five pillars: the UAE accommodative welcoming culture, university governance, IPE Strategy, Simulation and Metaverse facilities, and the RAKMHSU innovative Curriculum approved by the CAA UAE, and the last fifth pillar is the enhancement and training activities supervised by the Vice President of Research, Professor El-Tanani, VP Academic Affairs Prof Hajeer and deans of RAKCOMS, RAKCOP, RAKCODS AND RAKCON, and chaired by the Director of CEDAR, Professor Omer Eladil, and his team.
RAKMHSU has completed phase one, the piloting stage, and is planning to use it as an innovative teaching delivery method in the next semester to achieve competency-based interprofessional education. This will ultimately benefit the patients and provide them with the best healthcare.
