A distinguished delegation from RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU) visited the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to strengthen collaboration in health workforce development. The delegation was led by H.E. Mr. Salem Al Sharhan, Chairman of RAKMHSU’s Board of Trustees, and included H.E. Dr. Yasser Al Nuaimi, Board Member; Prof. Ismail Matalka, President; and Prof. Elsheikh Badr, Director of the Center for Health Workforce Development (CHWD).
The delegation was warmly welcomed by H.E. Awadh Al Ketbi, Director General of DHA, alongside Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector, and Dr. Wadeia Sharief, Director of the Medical Education and Research Department.
During the meeting, RAKMHSU leadership presented the CHWD, which is dedicated to addressing health workforce challenges and promoting capacity-building initiatives. They reiterated the university’s commitment to collaborating with DHA to enhance the health workforce, particularly in priority areas.
H.E. Awadh Al Ketbi expressed his enthusiasm for the delegation’s visit, highlighting the critical importance of collaboration between DHA and RAKMHSU. He supported the proposal to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at facilitating joint efforts in healthcare workforce development. Additionally, H.E. Al Ketbi expressed interest in visiting RAKMHSU in the near future to further explore and support this collaboration.
RAKMHSU extends its sincere appreciation for the warm reception and commitment shown by DHA’s leadership. The university looks forward to establishing a robust partnership that will enhance the healthcare workforce and improve healthcare services across UAE.
