Pink October-Breast Cancer Awareness Day

The Office of Students Affairs and the Student Council are organizing the PINK OCTOBER event on the 23rd October 2024 from 11.00am to 5.00 pm at the Sports Complex. The event is to create awareness about Breast Cancer  and the importance of early screening in women.

 

The activities  include the following:

  • Presentation and demonstration of breast self- examination for grade 11&12 female school students (from 9.30-11.30 am at the Clinical Skills Lab)
  • Fund-raising activities: Pink Steps Challenge (to start on Friday 25th Oct. till Sunday 27th Oct 2024) and other activities (e.g. bake sale, Henna, face paint, etc..).The funds generated will be donated to Breast Cancer  and other cancer patients, through UAE Red Crescent or Emirates Cancer Society-RAK Branch.
  •  Art competition.
  • Writing competition
  • Quiz (four teams each having maximum 4 students from all colleges)
  • Intercollege exhibition: including models, art pieces, enactments, videos, photographs etc .  The suggested themes of the exhibition are:

Registered students for the different categories are requested to submit the art work/ posters/models etc on Monday 21st Oct to be displayed and judged on 23rd Oct at the Sports Complex. The best entries for each category will be awarded.
