RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU), represented by its Center for Health Workforce Development (CHWD), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) to strengthen public health workforce capacity in the UAE and the broader region. The signing ceremony took place at RAKMHSU’s campus in Ras Al Khaimah, with Prof. Ismail Matalka, President of RAKMHSU, and Dr. Mohannad Elnsur, Executive Director of EMPHNET, formalizing the partnership.
The agreement was witnessed by CHWD's director, Prof. Elsheikh Badr, alongside delegates and representatives from both RAKMHSU and EMPHNET. Through this MOU, both institutions aim to launch initiatives that will contribute significantly to public health workforce capacity strengthening. EMPHNET, along with its educational arm, the International Academy of Public Health (IAPH), brings extensive experience and a strong track record in advancing public health capabilities across the Eastern Mediterranean region.
This collaboration sets the foundation for impactful projects focused on upskilling healthcare professionals and supporting the public health workforce, thereby addressing regional public health needs and strengthening healthcare systems.
