The Ras Al Khaimah College of Nursing (RAKCON) was honored to host Her Excellency Professor Rowaida ALMaaitah for a distinguished lecture entitled "The State of the World’s Nursing Report (SOWN) 2025 – A Call to Action." The event, held at the college campus, brought together a distinguished audience including the Dean of RAKCON, Professor Ibrahim Al Faouri, faculty members, and students from various academic programs.
The lecture centered on the critical findings and imperatives outlined in the landmark 2025 SOWN report, a pivotal global analysis by the World Health Organization. Her Excellency Professor ALMaaitah, a renowned leader in nursing and healthcare policy, provided an insightful overview of the report’s assessment of the global nursing workforce, highlighting both progress and persistent challenges. She articulated the urgent "Call to Action" for investment in nursing education, jobs, and leadership to strengthen health systems worldwide and achieve universal health coverage.
