Area of research
- My research interests include isolation and structure elucidation of biologically active natural products.
- Exploring new scaffolds/ novel molecules/ bioactive constituents from natural products is the thrust area of my research.
- Preparation of semisynthetic analogs of Natural products like flavonoids, alkaloids, etc., aims for better activity and lesser toxicity towards the development of New Chemical Entities (NCE).
- Optimization of large scale extraction and isolation of natural products of commercial value. This includes the search for active components from plants used in folk medicine to understand the validity of centuries old use of Herbal Medicine which possesses antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, anticancer, and antidiabetic properties.
- Chemical fingerprinting using metabolomics or metabolic profiling by HPLC, GC, LC/MS, and NMR in medicinal plant products.
