Community Outreach and Engagement Programs
Engaging with Communities to Promote Oral Health Awareness and Care
Community outreach is an integral part of RAK College of Dental Sciences (RAKCODS), connecting dental education, community service, and oral health promotion. Through activities conducted within the College and across the wider community, students and faculty work together to promote prevention, improve oral health awareness, and encourage healthy practices.
Community Engagement Programs
RAKCODS provides quality dental care free of charge to community members, regardless of nationality. The College conducts educational sessions, preventive initiatives, dental screenings, and awareness events to support informed oral health practices.
These activities also provide students with opportunities to strengthen their communication, professionalism, patient education, and clinical skills under faculty supervision.
Community Outreach Programs
Beyond the College, RAKCODS collaborates with schools, healthcare institutions, community organizations, and other partners to deliver oral health campaigns, educational visits, screenings, and preventive initiatives.
These programs help extend oral health education and services to diverse groups while strengthening RAKCODS' engagement with the wider community.
Learning Through Community Engagement
Community engagement contributes to students' professional development by enhancing their understanding of diverse oral health needs, barriers to care, prevention strategies, and broader determinants of oral health.
Through these experiences, students develop greater professional and social responsibility while strengthening their ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities.
Creating a Positive Oral Health Impact
By integrating education, service, and professional development, RAKCODS fosters a culture of prevention and prepares future dental professionals to contribute not only to the treatment of oral disease, but also to oral health promotion, disease prevention, and healthier communities.
