Medicine.
About Us:
Our College of Medicine offers a comprehensive Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, integrating foundational and
clinical sciences to cultivate future physicians prepared for contemporary healthcare challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and visionary leadership for the College of Medicine.
- Ensure academic program integrity and promote high standards in education and research.
- Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students.
- Champion innovative pedagogical approaches and curriculum enhancement.
- Strengthen the college’s profile through strategic partnerships and community engagement.
- Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and academic planning.
- Monitor teaching/learning effectiveness and maintain rigorous academic standards.
- Supervise examination and student assessment procedures.
- Lead faculty development initiatives and foster academic excellence.
- Develop and implement research-enhancing policies.
- Promote faculty and student participation in cutting-edge research.
- Generate comprehensive annual reports on academic and administrative matters.
- Manage the college’s annual budget in collaboration with the VP – Academic Affairs and the Office of Finance
and Administration.
- Oversee student affairs and support student learning and well-being initiatives.
- Implement student-centred learning policies.
- Manage assessment activities in coordination with the Institutional Effectiveness/Research Office.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and supervise University Council decisions.
- Align college performance with RAKMHSU's broader vision and mission.
- Work with the VP- Academic Affairs and President and drive academic activities including clinical training in
the hospitals.Â

Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Primary medical qualification (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Professorial rank in Basic or Clinical Medical Sciences.
- MD/PhD or equivalent with a strong background in medical education and leadership.
- Minimum of 10 years of academic and administrative experience at a responsible position such as Dean, in a
well-established medical institution.
- Proven track record in medical research, curriculum development, and accreditation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Experience in fostering international collaborations.
- Possessing rich experience in Problem Based Learning (PBL), Team Based Learning (TBL) and other Active Learning
environments, assessment procedures, faculty evaluation and development.
