On Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, RAK College of Pharmacy at RAK Medical and Health Sciences University proudly celebrated World Pharmacist Day with a vibrant and engaging programme held at the University Auditorium. The event highlighted the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare and showcased the college’s commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical education and community engagement.
A key highlight of the celebration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between RAK College of Pharmacy and the Emirates Pharmacy Society (EPS), marking a significant step toward collaborative advancement in pharmacy practice, research, and professional development.
The event commenced with the National Anthem and Quran recitation, followed by opening remarks from the Vice President – Research & Post-Graduate Studies & Acting Dean of the College of Pharmacy Prof. Mohamed El Tanani. The President of EPS, Dr Abdullah Alkindi delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the evolving role of pharmacists in the UAE. The programme also featured a guest talk by a member of EPS, an interactive quiz session, e-poster presentations by students, and concluded with a vote of thanks, a cake-cutting ceremony, and a booth exhibition in the reception area.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic university-wide participation, with faculty and students from the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Dentistry joining in to honor the contributions of pharmacists. Their presence underscored the spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration and the shared commitment across healthcare disciplines to improving patient outcomes and advancing public health.
The event concluded on a joyful note with a cake-cutting ceremony led by the University President, Prof. Ismail Matalka, whose presence added great significance to the occasion and reflected the university’s strong support for the pharmacy profession.
This celebration not only honoured the contributions of pharmacists but also fostered academic and professional collaboration, reinforcing the college’s dedication to shaping future leaders in pharmacy.
