Director's Message

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to the RAKMHSU community—our students, alumni, faculty, staff, healthcare professionals, partners, and stakeholders.

The Simulation and Interprofessional Development Center (SIDC) was established in 2012 to advance teaching and learning, strengthen clinical and educational competencies, and support capacity building in health professions education.

In 2023, SIDC embarked on a significant transformation, expanding its scope toward a more integrated approach encompassing interprofessional education, social accountability, simulation and clinical skills, educational innovation, continuing professional development, Metaverse, health professions developments, and research. This transformation reflects our ambition to strengthen SIDC as an academic resource center responsive to the evolving needs of learners, educators, healthcare professionals, and the community.

At the heart of SIDC is a commitment to educational excellence and capacity building. Our activities support contemporary and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning, including simulation, curriculum development, educational technologies, student assessment, program evaluation, faculty development, academic leadership, and educational research.

We strive to create a dynamic and enriching interprofessional learning environment where students, educators, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders can learn together, exchange knowledge, develop competencies, and translate evidence into educational and professional practice. Through our programs, workshops, simulation activities, research initiatives, and professional development opportunities, we promote collaboration, innovation, patient safety, and continuous improvement.

As SIDC continues the transformation initiated in 2023, we remain committed to supporting the mission, vision, and values of RAKMHSU and contributing to the advancement of health professions education and safe, high-quality, patient-centered healthcare.
