Program Overview
The Master of Science in Medical Physiology (MSMP) is a one-and-a-half-year postgraduate program offered by the RAK College of Medical Sciences (RAKCOMS). Admissions are open to students of all nationalities based on the established admission criteria.
The program is organized by credit hours, with each semester consisting of 10 credit hours. The first year covers 20 credit hours across two semesters, and the second year covers 10 credit hours, for a total of 30 credit hours.
Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS/MD/MBCHB) or Dentistry (BDS) may qualify for direct admission, while those who narrowly miss the threshold may be considered for conditional admission. See the Admission Criteria tab for full details.

Admission Criteria
MSc Medical Physiology (One and half year program)
Admissions are open to students of all nationalities based on the established admission criteria.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Degree: Students with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS/MD/MBCHB) or Dentistry (BDS) with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or an equivalent degree.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must provide a letter confirming that their previous degree was completed in English. If the degree was obtained in a non-English language, the applicant must take an internal English proficiency assessment conducted by the university.
- Interview: Eligible applicants will be invited for an interview or discussion prior to admission.
Applicants who do not meet the direct admission criteria may be considered for conditional admission under the following conditions:
- Educational Degree: Students with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBBS/MD/MBCHB) or Dentistry (BDS) with a CGPA between 2.0 and 2.49 on a 4.0 scale or an equivalent degree.
- Academic Performance During Conditional Period: Students admitted conditionally must complete a maximum of nine credit hours of graduate-level coursework during the conditional admission period. These courses must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). Failure to meet this requirement may result in dismissal from the program.
Fee Structure
The tuition fee structure for the MSMP program is organized by credit hours. Each semester consists of 10 credit hours. In the first year (20 credit hours), the fee is 40,000 AED per semester, totaling 80,000 AED. In the second year (10 credit hours), the fee is 40,000 AED, bringing the total program tuition cost to 120,000 AED per student. Additional minor fees for registration, examinations, and dissertation are detailed in the annexure.
