RAK College of Medical Sciences – Organizational Structure
The organizational structure of the RAK College of Medical Sciences (RAKCOMS) sets out who
reports to the Dean, which basic science and clinical departments sit under each associate
dean, and the board and committees that advise the College and oversee its curriculum,
quality and research.

The Associate Dean (Vice Dean), the Associate Dean (Basic Sciences) and the Assistant Dean (Clinical Sciences) are joined to the Dean. Under the Associate Dean (Basic Sciences): General Education Courses; Anatomy; Physiology; Biochemistry; Pathology; Pharmacology; Medical Microbiology & Immunology; Clinical Skills. Under the Associate Dean (Vice Dean): Internal Medicine incl. Dermatology & Radiology; General Surgery incl. Neurosurgery, Urology, Anaesthesia & ICU; Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Otorhinolaryngology; Ophthalmology; Orthopaedics; Paediatrics & Neonatology; Community Medicine & Family Medicine; Psychiatry. Also joined to the Dean: Advisory Board; College Council; Curriculum and Assessment Committee; Quality Assurance & Programme Evaluation Committee; Research & Ethics Sub-Committee; Ad-hoc Sub-Committees.
