Advance your nursing career at the UAE’s specialist health-sciences university. The Post-Graduate Diploma in Nursing (PGD) is a 1-year program delivered over 2 semesters — 24 credit hours in total — with specialty tracks in Adult Health & Gerontology, Emergency Care and Critical Care.
Program Overview
The Post-Graduate Diploma in Nursing (PGD) at RAK College of Nursing is a one-year program of study spread over two semesters, carrying a total of 24 credit hours. The curriculum is distributed into Non-Core / General courses (6 credit hours) and Core-Speciality courses (18 credit hours), combining theory with practical and clinical learning so that registered nurses can develop advanced, specialty-focused competencies.
Each specialty track is built around the nursing process — advanced clinical reasoning, prioritization, evidence-based practice and patient-centred care — supported by supervised clinical rotations. Admissions are open for the September 2025 batch.
Specialty Tracks
Critical thinking and problem-solving strategies for the care of adults and older adults with acute or complex illness and/or injury, applied within the framework of the nursing process.
Fundamental and advanced knowledge and skills for the fast-paced environment of emergency care — triage, assessment, and management of cardiac, respiratory and trauma emergencies.
Care of patients experiencing complex and life-threatening illnesses, covering single and multi-organ system dysfunction and the role of the nurse in the critical care unit.
