Ms. Israa A.M Abuijlan

MSN AHN

My journey in nursing began with a passion to serve the sick and the needy. I worked as a staff nurse and later as the charge nurse in an intensive care unit at Ras Al Khaimah. It was always a dream to pursue higher studies and to climb a ladder for professional excellence to do the best of my abilities. To take this path I decided to join as senior clinical instructor in the RAK College of nursing - RAKMHSU, which guided me to see myself as a teacher, mentor and a researcher. The biggest blessing was to take the decision to pursue Master of Science in Nursing with adult health nursing as the specialty. As Nelson Mendala said, "Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and are passionate about what they do". It came vivid when I received the gold medal for the academic achievement on president's merit list. Working and studying at RAKMHSU was a great opportunity to realize my dream into a reality showing me immense possibilities that lies ahead in this journey of life .

Shubham Agarwal, MD

"I graduated with the Class of 2015 of the MD program and I must say that when I look back, I do not doubt my decision of coming to RAKMHSU. The program's clinical robustness across multiple clinical sites in the UAE prepared me well for what lied ahead. Having faculty members from various countries and different healthcare systems made the experience very diverse and enriching. It provided me with a global understanding of health and emboldened me to pursue a career in internal medicine. I am very grateful to the numerous career fairs, talks, and symposia conducted at the university which were eye-opening to the needs and requirements of application processes for further training. I would wholeheartedly recommend aspiring medical students to strongly consider coming to RAKMHSU for a world-class educational experience."

Muzammil Asif Khambati

I pursued the MD program in Ras al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University. It was a highly structured program that placed a lot of emphasis on focussed learning and skill development of the students. The program tested our preparedness for the real and demanding world of professional healthcare by allowing students to shoulder responsibilities through self-learning, group discussions and case studies. Even the exam formats including the MCQ and OSCE formats were designed to keep the students sharp and ready for tackling the common health problems and not falter when faced with some of the rarer diseases. The university provided us with a proper framework to develop our interests and understand where our final calling lay. The career fairs were helpful and always encouraged the students to explore new ideas and possible career opportunities. It is during one such fair that I realised that my true calling was management interlaced with practice. Keeping that goal in mind I am currently practising as a General Practitioner, with a Diploma in Business Management and Accountancy, and also serve as the Medical Director of my clinic. I sincerely thank our University, our accomplished management and esteemed professors for giving us the wings to fly.

Dr. Alefiyah Saleem Bohra

The program I persuaded at RAK medical & health Science University was MD, it was a 5 year program with 1 year of internship. The university with an excellent board of faculty members and their curriculum helped me from the first year itself to mould into a competent physician. The program not only thought us theoretically but their PBL cases gave us a clinical touch from start. The examination pattern prepared us for international examination. They even emphasised on doing research work and publishing papers which is required for a successful career. The university arranged for career fairs from 4th year of medical school to help us guide and choose our desired specialization. The program was so extensively designed that we also got groomed from faculty across the world; this indirectly made us capable and competitive for examinations and securing a desired career path.
