Applying to RAKMHSU from India

Your school/degree certificates usually need a chain of authentication so UAE authorities accept them. Note the UAE is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, so the traditional attestation chain (not an Apostille) generally applies.

Every case differs — admissions confirms exactly what you need. Call +971 50 487 5530.

Step by step

Your document & attestation route

1
State / issuing-level verification first
Indian documents (Class X & XII, degree, transcripts) normally start with state-level authentication — commonly HRD attestation of the relevant state, or SDM/notary depending on the document. The exact authority differs by state.
2
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) attestation
After state verification, the document is attested by India's MEA. Because the UAE is not an Apostille country, the consular attestation chain applies rather than an Apostille — confirm the current route with RAKMHSU before paying.
3
UAE Embassy/Consulate attestation in India
The next stamp is normally from the UAE Embassy/Consulate in India — the standard requirement for using Indian documents in the UAE.
4
Final attestation inside the UAE (MOFAIC)
Once in the UAE, documents are often finalised by the UAE MoFAIC. Check with RAKMHSU whether to complete this before travelling or after arrival.
5
MoE equivalency (Muadala) where required
The UAE Ministry of Education equivalency may be needed for your Class XII (undergraduate) or prior degree (graduate). RAKMHSU can tell you if it is needed at application stage or after admission.
Documents to prepare
Valid passport + photographs
Class X and Class XII certificates & marksheets
Migration/transfer certificate if requested
Degree certificate & transcripts (graduate applicants)
Attestation stamps (state/HRD, MEA, UAE consular, MOFAIC)
MoE equivalency where required
Language

Most Indian certificates are in English, so translation is often unnecessary. Regional-language documents need a certified English/Arabic translation.
