The clinical training at RAK College of Dental Sciences is provided as per the international standard which is accredited by Accreditation Canada for excellence in quality care and services.
The faculty and students shall have access to RAKCODS Dental clinics completely equipped with the state-of-the-art dental units. The college is using paperless environment. In this context Hospital Information Management System is already implemented for maintenance of patient records and Virtual Learning Environment for student education. The students are offered opportunities to carry out discipline based and Comprehensive Oral Care for their assigned patients at RAKCODS Dental Clinic.
RAKCODS provides clinical orientation to its students from year 1. Preclinical training start from year 2 and clinical training year 3 and continue until year 5. We provide a discipline based training for all subjects including Clinical Periodontics, Clinical Oral Surgery, Clinical Endodontics, Clinical Prosthodontics, Clinical Operative Dentistry, Oral Medicine, Clinical Pediatric Dentistry and Clinical Orthodontics. From year 5 of the students RAKCODS provides them with a comprehensive clinical training apart from discipline based training.
In all clinical areas of dentistry instruction is provided through lectures, seminars, problem oriented learning and clinical practices. The students are also involved in finishing comprehensive treatment of all their cases of which the best two will be used for their treatment planning presentations. Curriculum also provides ample resources and encouragement towards student research project as an integral subject.
RAKCODS is also using the facilities of Sheikh Saqr Hospital for Hospital Dentistry in Ras Al Khaimah for clinical training.
