There are two streams A&B. Stream A – BSN and Stream B – RN-BSN.
1. Stream A: BSN degree program:
The four year program curriculum has been designed to provide quality education in nursing which is comparable to the international levels. It also ensures that each student is exposed to professional knowledge and practice through evidence–based learning and problem-solving approaches. This program is fully accredited by Ministry of Education UAE.
2. Stream B: RN-BSN Bridge Program
Two years Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program full time for registered nurses who have completed Diploma in Nursing and have two years clinical experience.
3A. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Degree Program with four different concentrations Available.
Adult Health & Gerontology Nursing / Pediatric Nursing / Psychiatric Mental Health / Community Health Nursing & Midwifery Nursing. To fulfill the ever-growing need of nursing profession, RAK College of Nursing at RAK Medical & Health Sciences University, started the Master of Science in Nursing program (MSN) in the year 2011-2012.
This unique & dynamic program is based on the National league of Nursing core values of caring, integrity, diversity, and excellence derived from the Educational Competencies Model (2010), which calls for graduates of nursing programs to be prepared to:
- Promote and enhance human flourishing for patients, families, communities, and themselves.
- Show sound nursing judgment.
- Continually develop their professional identity.
- Maintain a spirit of inquiry as they move into the world of nursing practice and beyond
With four semesters in two-year MSN program lets, you earn your graduate MSN – Adult Health & Gerontology Nursing / Child Health / Psychiatric Mental Health/ Community Health Nursing degree. We offer a flexible schedule so nurses can continue working full time in the clinical practice setting while obtaining their MSN degree.
MSN program got its first renewal of accreditation from the Ministry of Education (MOE), on 21 December 2014 and re-accreditation on 2 September 2020 until30 November 2023.The program is supported by well qualified and committed faculty. Students assured of personalized teaching and guidance. In future, there more specialties added to the existing MSN program.
3B. Master of Science in Midwifery (MSM)
Degree Program (New) started in the A/Y 2020-2021. It has its initial accreditation from CAA, MOE, UAE on 2 September 2020. Admissions started, hurry, first accredited Midwifery program in UAE.
4. Conversion Program for Emirati and Non Emirati Arts students:
Conversion program is a gateway to admission into Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program at the RAK College of Nursing (RAKCON), RAK Medical Health Science University (RAKMHSU). This project was designed in the year 2013 to increase the number of Emirati nurses, which was only 4% at national level, compared to non-Emirates nurses (MOH, 2013). The main goal of the conversion program was to enable the art stream students to qualify in the science courses to become eligible for admission into BSN program at RAKCON. Initially this program was started for Emirati arts/ general stream students but now the program is offered for both Emirati and Non Emirati arts students. This program started after the approval by Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education. The program duration is of 16 weeks including theory and practice
5. Certificate course in Renal Nursing
This program has international Certification by European Dialysis & Transplant Nurses Association / European Renal Care Association.
Duration: Certificate Course in Renal Nursing Program (RNP): 6 months.
- Student nurses of Renal Nursing program will be provided with high quality education in Renal Nursing of international standards.
- Every Renal Nursing student will be exposed to Professional knowledge and practice through evidence - based learning and problem solving approaches
Students will have their practical experience in state of art nursing learning resource center, which has a fully simulated laboratory with the special renal unit.
The first batch Program started on 15 March 2020.
