Frequently Asked Questions - Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmacy

RAKCOP offers MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specializations in Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology and Medicinal Chemistry.

The MSc in Clinical Pharmacy is a two-year program (40 credit hours), while the MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences is 1½ years (30 credit hours).

Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply. For direct admission, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy/PharmD (for MSc Clinical Pharmacy) or in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields (for MSc Pharmaceutical Sciences) with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent, demonstrate English proficiency (through proof of English-medium instruction or an internal English test), and successfully pass an interview.

Conditional admission may be granted to applicants with a CGPA between 2.0 and 2.49, provided they complete up to nine credit hours of graduate coursework with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 during the conditional period.

The first year includes coursework, followed by clinical placement and research thesis in the second year (for MSc Clinical Pharmacy). The MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences focuses on formulation development and analytical methods.

Students receive clinical placements at Sheikh Khalifa, Saqr, and Fujairah Hospitals and conduct supervised research under experienced faculty.

Yes. Teaching and research assistantships are available for meritorious students, and partial tuition waivers may be offered.

Yes. The program offers evening and weekend classes, allowing part-time study with flexible research timelines.

Graduates can work as clinical pharmacists, regulatory officers, pharmacovigilance specialists, research associates, or pursue PhD programs in the UAE and abroad.
