Program Outcomes

Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Master of Science program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is offered with a concentration on two specialization streams, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology or Medicinal Chemistry, and prepares students to assume positions in pharmaceutical manufacturing and drug discovery laboratories. The program is designed to ensure that students get a clear comprehension of the various aspects of the pharmaceutical sciences. This program equips the students for job opportunities in pharmaceutical industries and research establishments and also allows them to continue with research for higher degrees in academic institutions.

The one and half year program has been designed to achieve the following goals:

  1. To provide advanced knowledge in different areas of pharmaceutical sciences covering pharmaceutical technology and biotechnology or medicinal chemistry. To enhance research abilities in the field of industrial technology, drug discovery, and development.
  2. To train students to develop competence to work in multi-disciplinary groups.
  3. To develop the necessary professional competence to employ strategies using advanced scientific approaches.
  4. To foster the skills of problem-solving and decision-making as applied to professional development.
  5. To impart training on advances in biotechnology and novel drug products and their development through research.
